NIU, the manufacturer of electric and connected scooters, today announces the launch of two new scooters, the NQi GT and the MQi+, designed for the European market. The launch is part of the Urban Mobility Summit organized by NIU in partnership with Autonomy and which will bring together the main experts and decision-makers in the mobility sector in Europe on June 12.
NIU has again partnered with Bosch, Panasonic and Vodafone to design this generation of connected scooters dedicated to European users. The NQi GT and MQi+ offer different driving modes and additional space for a second passenger.
The NQi GT (pre-sale price 3,999 euros) is a fully electric connected scooter consisting of two removable 60V35Ah lithium-ion batteries that can be recharged in 3.5 hours and a Bosch 3000W electric motor that can reach the maximum speed of 70km /h. It also has a range of over 130km.
The MQi+ (pre-sale price 2,299 euros) is an improved version of the MQi series, homologated for two passengers. The MQi+ is powered by a 48V42Ah battery, with a Bosch 1200W electric motor for a top speed of 45km/h and a range of over 100km.
All scooters come with a prepaid Vodafone SIM card which allows 24/7 connection to the NIU app. The app provides owners with real-time information like GPS, anti-theft tracking, remote tracking, scooter diagnostics and helpdesk. In addition, NIU uses riding data from all scooters to continuously optimize the performance of its fleet.
The new models are available from the end of June for pre-order across Europe via a limited Indiegogo offer, priced at €3,999 for the NQi GT model and €2,299 for the MQi+ model. They will also be available in January 2019 in the 650 NIU points of sale in Europe at €4,499 for the NQi GT model and €2,599 for the MQi+.
